President Ghani Inaugurates 17th
Legislative Terms Of National Assembly
The
17th legislative terms of
national assembly was inaugurated by President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani here in
Kabul the other day.
The
session were attended by high ranking
governmental officials including Chief Executive Office Dr. Abdullah Abdullah,
Second Vice President Muhammad Sarwar Danish, Cabinet members, both houses
members, Attorney General, Chief of Supreme Court including political figures
and a few delegates of foreign
embassies.
Initially an MP from Ghor province and interim chief of
Wolesi Jirga Ata Muhammad Dehqan Por in his statement welcomed presence of
President Ghani, CEO Dr. Abdullah, Second Vice President, members of both
house, cabinet members including political figures and foreign ambassadors in
today’s inauguration ceremony.
Overall, interim chief of Wolesi Jirga pointed on three
important of MPs responsibilities regarding to monitoring from government’s
actions, enacting of laws and representing of people, meanwhile he urged
that monitoring form government’s actions is not mean confrontation.
Likewise, Dehqan Por talked in relation to peace and asserted that
peace is essential and vital for people and emphasized on preserving of past
achievements including ensuring of
social justice.
Moreover, interim chief of Lower House of Parliament asked
from government and Taliban to announce bilateral ceasefire in holy Ramadan
month in order to pave the ground of everlasting peace in the country.
At the meantime, President Ghan in his statement welcomed
presence of present members in today’s session and reiterated that it was
expected we would have inaugurated the present session six month ago, but it
was delayed due to the carelessness of the previous Independent Elections
Commission (IEC) authorities.
President Ghani said, there was no meddling in elections
affairs and in today's session the place of Kabul delegates is empty, added,
the Independent Elections Commission officials should take deadline for
announcing of Kabul elections results.
President
Ghani meanwhile said, he respects for decisions of Wolesi Jirga as one of the
bodies of the government.
Furthermore, President Ghani reiterated that the 17th legislative terms of national assembly
should open a new chapter and the past distances should not be repeated, added,
this terms of national assembly will be called national unity consolidation.
Moreover, President Ghani pointed on a few achievements
of national unity government and reiterated that attention has been paid for
water containment, struggle against poverty and some other modifications.
Ghani added, water is ours and we manage our water.
At the meantime, President Ghani pointed on supplied of electricity to 50%
in the country’s territory and emphasized that electricity will be supplied to
all districts of the country in the next two years.
Linking
of Afghanistan to some ports is a positive practical step in the field of
empowering the country’s economy and previous we needed to a port but now we
are connecting more than ten ports, said President Ghani.
Overall, President Ghani pointed on Islamic states summit
about Afghanistan’s war and Afghan Ulema Fatwa based on forbidding of war in
the country said, the country’s security forces have been success in the
neutral of the Taliban’s spring operations and other terrorists groups.
President Ghani meanwhile talked about holding of peace
consultative Loya Jirga in order termination of war in the country in upcoming
week, added, the peace secret is in our unity.
At
end of today’s ceremony, the new members of Wolesi Jirga had oath.
